What Legit It is, and isn't

Legit It gives you a confidence rating, from 0 to 100, with the reasons and sources behind it, on whether something you see can be trusted. It is not a guarantee. A result can be wrong, and you are responsible for your own decisions. When money, your accounts or your safety are involved, check directly with the company or agency through its official app, website or phone number.

Your account and fair use

Use Legit It for your own checks and your family's. Each phone can run up to 50 new checks a day; repeat checks of the same content don't count. Don't use Legit It to break the law, to overload or copy the service, or to check content you have no right to share.

Subscriptions and the free trial

• New subscribers get a 14-day free trial. Your subscription starts at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in your Apple or Google account settings; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
• Payments and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules.
• Plans: Individual, Seniors 60+ (age confirmed by you), Family (up to 5 people) and Students (with a verified college email). Founding-member pricing lasts for as long as your subscription stays active.

Referrals: "4 to free"

After your first paid month, when 4 friends you invited have each paid their first month and keep paying, we pay you back the cost of your subscription each month. For each paying friend beyond 4, we pay you a monthly reward ($1 on Individual plans, $2 on Student plans) while that friend pays. You earn only on friends you invite yourself, never on friends of friends. Rewards are recalculated monthly, paid in cash or credit through our payout provider, and require you to be 18 or older; we may need tax information for payments over $600 a year. Self-referrals, fake accounts and other abuse void rewards. We may change the program with notice; rewards already earned are kept.

Campus, community and creator programs

Campus leads, clubs, community organizations and creators who join our programs sign separate terms covering their codes, commissions and payouts. Anyone promoting Legit It for pay must say so clearly, as FTC rules require, and must not promise income.

Your content

You keep all rights to what you send. You give us permission to process it only to check it and show you the result, as described in our privacy policy. Files are deleted after the check.

Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, Legit It is provided "as is", and we are not liable for losses from decisions made using a result, or for indirect damages. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
